09 Dec The Importance of Giving Back at DATAMATX

While it is important to give back to the community all year round, it is particularly top of mind at this time of year with the weather turning colder and the holidays around the corner. As Oscar Wilde said, “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” Whether it’s through volunteering, donating clothes or helping food banks, every contribution makes a difference.
With so many important causes looking for volunteers, there has never been a better time to support the communities where we live and work. Not only is supporting a meaningful cause good for your health, it can also have the side benefits of helping to build new skills, meet others, and give you a sense of purpose while strengthening your community.
At DATAMATX, we are committed to giving back to our community. This season our Atlanta location is collecting donations for the Northside Hospital Foundation, a non-profit community that connects volunteers, donors, and resources to enrich the lives of individuals served by Northside Hospital, a network of hospitals and medical facilities in the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area. The Foundation services both current as well as former patients through regular events and fundraisers that support various programs such as, “Miracle Babies,” and the Cancer Institute. DATAMATX has chosen to donate itemsspecifically geared toward Infusion/Chemotherapy recipients. These include new blankets, scarves, non-slip socks and more.
Additionally, our Richmond, Virginia location will be participating in “Coats for Kids” through Puritan Cleaners. Our team at Puritan Cleaners will clean and repair each donated coat before delivering them to the Salvation Army to be distributed to local families in need. With over 400,000 coats collected over the years, we are proud of our generous customers and our outstanding staff.
As a company, we are committed to being strong corporate citizens. Our goal is to have the highest standards ethically, legally and economically to positively affect our community. We encourage our team members to volunteer for community service aside from any corporate sponsorship and are proud that they do.
