Someone once said that the importance of giving back to society can’t be understated because the secret to happy living is giving; and I couldn’t agree more. One of the prime purposes we have in life is to help others, especially those in need… especially now.

Which is why DATAMATX chose to partner this holiday season with I Care Atlanta, Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to ending homelessness by reaching out to the working poor and homeless men, women, and children in Metro Atlanta and surrounding communities. This wonderful organization provides various services, such as mobile pantry, direct (in-housedistribution) and emergency/crisis prevention services.

As the weather gets colder, the need for winter gear increases drastically.  One of the many things I Care Atlanta does for our community is assists individuals in obtaining food, clothing, and resources to the homeless. This year, our DATAMATX team helped to keep Atlanta warm by donating winter clothing—filling box after box with coats, hats, mittens and more. It felt good to know we are helping our community support those in need.

Giving back to your community, whether it is through volunteering, cleaning out your closet, donating to the food banks or donating money, has a way of not only impacting other people’s lives in a positive way, it also has a magical way of doing the same for the giver. Standing by the boxes of clothes ready to go to I Care Atlanta, I couldn’t help but feel very proud of the people who work at DATAMATX that took time out of their own busy lives to help the working poor and homeless men, women, and children in Metro Atlanta and surrounding communities.
